Overview of The Church of Pentecost
The Church of Pentecost Canada is a full-gospel, Holy Spirit-filled church carrying the gospel to all parts of the world. The driving force behind the Church’s growth is that The Church of Pentecost is part of the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head and the Holy Spirit is the Spiritual Administrator.
The Church of Pentecost Canada is a registered federal religious non-profit organization carrying the gospel to all parts of the world and in Canada in particular. The Church of Pentecost Canada is a branch of The Church of Pentecost International, which has its general headquarters in Accra, Ghana, West Africa and traces its origin to 1937 when the English missionary, Rev. James Mckeown, began his ministry in the then Gold Coast (now Ghana). Presently, The Church of Pentecost International is active in over 190 countries across all continents with over 3.5 million members worldwide. The Chairman (International President) of the Church is Apostle Eric Nyamekye.
HISTORY OF COP CANADA
The Church of Pentecost Canada was started in September 1990 in Scarborough, Ontario, and has since expanded to all provinces in Canada. Our National Office is located in Toronto, Ontario.
Presently, there are over 64 branches or local churches divided into five administrative Areas and 38 districts. As at December 2024, the Church of Pentecost Canada had a total membership of 11, 366 comprising of 9101 adults and 2265 children. There were 37 Ministers consisting of 5 Apostles, 1 Evangelist, 12 pastors, 5 Overseers, 14 Probationary Overseers, and 8 bi-vocational ministers. The Church had 355 Elders, 174 Deacons, and 347 Deaconesses. Four Canadian ministers and their wives are serving as missionaries in Cuba, St. Lucia, Antigua & Barbuda, and Belize.

Ontario: North York, Brampton, Mississauga, Aurora, Barrie, Bradford, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Scarborough, Oakville, Georgetown, Hamilton, London, Windsor, Ottawa, Peterborough, Downtown Toronto, Oshawa, St. Catharines, Welland, Kitchener/Waterloo.
Quebec: Montreal, Quebec City, Joliette, Gatineau, West Islands.
Alberta: Edmonton, Calgary, Airdrie (Rockyview), Red Deer, Lethbridge, Brooks, Medicine Hat.
British Columbia: Surrey/Vancouver, Victoria, Abbotsford, Nanaimo
Manitoba: Winnipeg, Brandon, Fort Richmond
Saskatchewan: Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw
Nunavut: Iqaluit
New Brunswick: Moncton, St. John, Fredericton.

We have Francophone branches in Gatineau, Airdrie, Edmonton, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Quebec City. Services are held in Swahili in Joliette and Farsi in Aurora. Akan-speaking branches are in North York (Mckeown Worship Center), Scarborough (Cornerstone Assembly), Calgary (Gracehill Assembly), Edmonton (Bethel Assembly), Brampton (Aps. Dr. E. O. Bediako Assembly), Mississauga (Martinson Kwadwo Yeboah Assembly), Saskatoon, Ottawa (Emmanuel Assembly), Montreal (Victory Assembly), and Vancouver.
New branches are being planted in Yellowknife, Kingston, Brantford, Sarnia, Sault St. Marie, Chatham, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Leduc, Lloydminster, Miramachi, The Pas, Portage La Prairie, Kelowna, Prince George, Labrador, and other cities and towns.
The current National Head (Senior Pastor) of The Church of Pentecost Canada is Apostle Ransford Obeng Gyamfi. Past National Heads have been: Pastor Alfred K. Awuah (National Head for USA with oversight for Canada, 1991 – 1992 ), Apostle Dr. Alex Osei Bonsu ( 1992-1997 ), Apostle Kwesi Ackah-Baidoo ( 1997-2004 ), Apostle Anthony Kingsley Miah ( 2004-2009 ), the late Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Bediako ( 2009-2013 ), Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Anthony Owusu (Acting National Head, 2013 – 2014 ), Apostle Sampson Ofori Yiadom ( 2014-2016 ), and Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Anthony Owusu ( 2016 – 2021 ).
