PSALM 50:12 NASB “If I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and all it contains.
HAGGAI 2:8 NASB ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ declares the LORD of hosts.
You probably knew that God is rich. But have you thought about what that means? Since God is not poor, surely He would not desire His children to suffer poverty. Some Christians think Jesus was poor and that His followers should also be poor. This is not true, but a strong deception. Why did God create all the wealth of this world? Surely not for the devil and his crowd.
God does not withhold good from us but desires to bless us all. Otherwise, God would not even be as good as earthly parents. Any court would condemn an earthly father, who, although rich, withheld support from His children. Should we think our Father (God) is any less loving and caring than an earthly father? NO! Jesus taught that our Heavenly Father is much more gracious and generous than any earthly father.
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” MATTHEW 7:11, NASB. Just because you have not yet received the fullness of God’s blessing does not mean God does not desire that you have it. Instead of blaming God, let us seek Him for understanding and help to receive all He has for us.
Surely, God warns against trusting in riches or being deceived by them. Anything can be
dangerous if not used properly. Fire can maim and kill, yet it is a great blessing when properly controlled. So it is with money. God is not against His children having wealth. He just does not want us to trust in it and worship it.
Let’s line up our thinking with the Bible and quit letting the devil rob us of the blessings God intends for us. In case you are in doubt, consider the following Bible evidence of divine prosperity:
- God is your wealthy Father Who loves you and delights to bless you. “The LORD be magnified, who delights in the prosperity of His servant.” PSALM 35:27 NASB
- God desires that we prosper. (3 John 1:2)
- You should have “all sufficiency in all things” so you can “have an abundance for every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
- The blessing of Abraham is supposed to come upon those who are in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:14) “The Lord blessed Abraham in all things.” (Genesis 24:1). (Abraham) was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.” (Genesis 13:2)
- God “has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.” (2 Peter 1:3)
Prosperity is God’s will for you; but you must receive it by faith. Jesus taught that God’s Word is a seed. (Luke 8:11). It will produce in you life after its kind. Whatever your need, plant the seed from God’s Word that covers it. Then you will reap what you need, if you don’t give up (Galatians 6:9). If you have big needs, plant more of God’s seed.
In Joshua 1:7-9, God gave instructions for success that will still work for you today. It is not enough to read God’s Word; you must also speak it. By hearing it and speaking it, you plant it in your heart. The above scriptures will help you feed your faith in the area of prosperity. The more you say the Scriptures and meditate on them, the more your faith will grow. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Nothing will build your faith as quickly as hearing and speaking God’s Word.
The promise of Jesus in John 8:31-32 is for you. If you continue in the Word of God, you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free! Only those who continue in God’s Word come to the place of knowing. That is faith. Faith is not trying to believe. Faith is knowing that you know. Continue saying these Scriptures and thinking about them. They will grow big in you and produce the fruit of prosperity in your life – for the glory of God.
